LS suspends TD MPs for protest demanding SCS

The MPs continued their protest by carrying placards and raising slogans near the Speaker's podium even after they were suspended.

Vijayawada: Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Thursday suspended 14 TD MPs for four days after they protested in the House, demanding implementation of the AP Reorganisation Act and fulfilling of promises made at the time of bifurcation, including the Special Category Status.

The MPs continued their protest by carrying placards and raising slogans near the Speaker’s podium even after they were suspended. While 12 TD MPs were suspended in the morning session, two more in the afternoon.

As soon as the House began in the morning, the MPs barged into the well, raising slogans, obstructed the proceedings. After several warnings, Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan suspended them for four days.
