Bihar:Tejashwi Yadav's Remarks on Ram Temple Construction Stir Political Turbulence
Patna: The RJD is facing severe backlash after Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav made a controversial statement regarding the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. While addressing a public meeting on Thursday, Mr Yadav said that in the event of illness or injury, people will seek medical attention rather than visiting a temple. The remark has sparked criticism from the BJP.
“People will go to a hospital and not a temple if they fall sick or get injured. I am not against any religion. I visited Tirupati recently, where my daughter got tonsured. Even I offered my hair. My only concern is to stop the ongoing efforts to alter the fabric of this country. In the current scenario, efforts are being made to change the country's Constitution and destroy democracy,” Mr Yadav said.
During the public meeting, he also took the opportunity to highlight the achievements of the Bihar government and criticise the Central government for allegedly deploying investigating agencies against the Opposition parties.
Emphasising the Bihar government's commitment to employment generation in the state, he said, “We are making efforts to create employment and distribute jobs to the people, but they (the Central government) are using agencies like the ED and the CBI against us.”
The Bihar deputy chief minister asserted that his focus is on addressing real public issues. He questioned the unfulfilled promise of '15 lakhs and the whereabouts of black money. During his speech, he also targeted the BJP for letting many economic offenders escape the country.
“Our fight is not with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We are only concerned about the '15 lakhs and the whereabouts of the black money that was promised to people earlier. We are also only asking about how Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi and Lalit Modi escaped from the country with public funds. There is a deliberate attempt to instigate hatred to hide all this,” Mr Yadav said during the public meeting.
During his speech, Mr Yadav also commented on the construction of the temple, stating, “Lakhs of crores are being spent in Ayodhya. Imagine if they spent it on salaries, education or medical facilities; then it would have benefited many people.”
