TRS will tie up with BJP, says Jaipal Reddy
He added that he hoped the Congress would stage a comeback in the state, whether the elections were held in 2018 or 2019.
Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader and former Union minister S. Jaipal Reddy said that TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao would definitely tie-up with the BJP either before or after the next elections. He said the TRS and the BJP had a secret understanding regarding an alliance, and they were just playing silly by staging a rift in public.
Speaking to newsmen on Saturday, Mr Reddy said that it was a well-known fact that Mr Chandrasekhar Rao had tried to form an alliance with the BJP during the 2014 elections. He said that Mr Rao’s outburst against Prime Minister Nare-ndra Modi and the Central government was a ploy intended to deceive the minorities and other groups in Telangana.
Mr Reddy pointed out that the Chief Minister had openly supported the Prime Minister’s demonetisation movement. Re-ferring to the speech recently made by Mr Rao in Karimna-gar district, in which he calling the Prime Minister in such a manner, the Congress leader said that during the speech, Mr Rao had also called Rahul Gandhi in such a manner.
“KCR has no alternative but to support the BJP, either before or after the polls. He is a first-rate opportunist,” Mr Reddy said.
Refusing to comment on the internal politics within the Congress in Telangana, Mr Reddy said he would contest from Mahbubnagar in the next Lok Sabha elections.
He added that he hoped the Congress would stage a comeback in the state, whether the elections were held in 2018 or 2019.
