Shivamogga: Clearly ruling out sacrificing the prestigious Mandya Lok Sabha constituency for the sake of the coalition partner, Congress, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Sunday said that his son Nikhil would contest from the parliamentary seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Talking to reporters here on Sunday, the chief minister said it is the wish of people of Mandya that the Janata Dal (Secular) contest from this seat.
Besides, Mandya has been a stronghold of his party and so the question of giving the seat to the Congress party does not arise.
The chief minister also clarified that his son would contest from Mandya constituency and not from Mysuru-Kodagu as was reported in some quarters.
