Nara Lokesh gets IT in Chandrababu Naidu's new cabinet

Lokesh was given Panchayati Raj from Ayyannapatrudu, and IT from Palle Raghunath Reddy.

Vijayawada: New minister Nara Lokesh was given the IT, Panchayati Raj, and rural development portfolio by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday.

Lokesh was given Panchayati Raj was held by Mr Ch. Ayyannapatrudu, and IT by Mr Palle Raghunath Reddy. Mr Ayyannapatrudu was given roads and buildings.

YSRC legislators who were inducted into the Cabinet on Sunday were given relatively major portfolios — Mr Amarnath Reddy got the key industries portfolio, Mr Venkata Sujaya Krishna Ranga Rao mining, Mr Adinarayana Reddy warehousing and marketing portfolios and Ms Bhuma Akhila Priya tourism.

There was a demotion for Mr Prattipati Pulla Rao who was shifted to civil supplies, price control and consumers affairs from agriculture. Mr Siddha Raghava Rao was given forests, seen as a step down.

Mr K. Atchannaidu was promoted to transport, BC welfare and handlooms. Mr Kollu Ravindra was given law, skill development, and sports and Ms Paritala Sunitha women and child welfare.

Mr Somireddy Chan-dramohan Reddy was given agriculture, Mr Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao power, Mr K. Jawahar Excise, Mr Pithani Satyanarayana labour and employment and Mr Nakka Anand-babu social welfare and tribal welfare (earlier with Mr Ravela Kishore Babu, who was dropped).

The Chief Minister did not change the portfolios of Deputy Chief Ministers Nimmakayala Chinarajappa (home), and K.E. Krishnamurthy (revenue, and stamps and registrations).

Mr Yanamala Ramakrishnudu retained finan-ce and legislative affairs, Mr Ganta Srinivasa Rao HRD, Dr K. Srinivas (medical and health), Mr Devineni Uma Maheshwara Rao (irrigation), Mr P. Manikyala Rao (endowments) and Dr P. Narayana (municipal administration). Dr Narayana’s rural housing portfolio was handed to Mr Kalva Srinivasulu along with information and public relations.
