PM Narendra Modi visiting Belagavi again on May 9
The PM's Belagavi visit is aimed at turning the tide in favour of the BJP in view of a tough fight with the Congress in Gokak.
Belagavi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will return to the campaign trail in Belagavi district again on May 9. In the wake of the huge success of Mr Modi's rally in Chikkodi on May 1, the BJP is holding another of his rallies and road shows in Belagavi district on May 9. He will hold a road show in Belagavi city and address a rally in Gokak on the same day.
The PM’s Belagavi visit is aimed at turning the tide in favour of the BJP in view of a tough fight with the Congress in Gokak, Belagavi North, Belagavi Rural and Belagavi South constituencies. Although the PM's SPG security wing is yet to give the final nod for Modi's shows in Belagavi and Gokak, party sources confirmed that the PM is all set for the upcoming events in Belagavi district.
Addressing media persons in Belagavi on Thursday, Belagavi MP Suresh Angadi said party national president Amit Shah will hold another road show in Belagavi city on May 6 and will be accompanied by senior leader Sushma Swaraj, Union Minister for External Affairs. A large contingent of BJP leaders is expected to join both Modi and Shah in their road shows.
The local administration is yet to mark the route for both the shows even as the BJP gears up for the first mega road show on May 6. Prior to these events, BJP State President B.S. Yeddyurappa will address consecutive rallies on May 4 in Belagavi North, Belagavi South, Kagwad, Gokak, Ramdurg, Bailhongal and Belagavi Rural.
