Hyderabad: BJP state president Dr K. Laxman said on Sunday that people across the country were rejecting corrupt and dynasty politics and the same would be repeated in Telangana state. He called the TRS a “corrupt and family party”, which he said would be ousted.

He was speaking at a meeting where leaders and activists from other parties joined the BJP on Sunday in the presence of Uppal party legislator N.V.S.S. Prabhakar.

Dr Laxman criticised the TRS government and the previous Congress regimes saying only private contractors had benefited during their tenure. Dr Laxman said that people of the state would teach them a lesson in 2019.

He said that the youth, BCs, SCs, STs, and minorities were supporting the BJP from every nook and corner of the country and Telangana state was no exception.

Dr Laxman said that the Congress, which once ruled the country with 420 MPs from all states. had been restricted to 44 in the 2014 elections. He said that the Congress had “looted” the country, particularly the Telugu speaking states. He said that a former prime minister (Rajiv Gandhi) had acknowledged the loot by saying that only 15 paise of every '1 released by the Centre reaches the farmers. Under the BJP rule, people were enjoying 100 per cent benefits, he said.

Dr Laxman said the CAG had exposed corruption in the state government. He said that Telangana state was found to be No 2 in the country in corruption.

Dr Laxman alleged that the TRS government was ruining the education system. “If government is committed to filling the 16,000 vacancies in the education department, it should have started recruitment before the start of academic year. Announcing it on June 2 does not make any sense,” Dr Laxman said.
