kottayam: The Kerala Congress (M) has stepped up its attack on the Congress by saying that the descendants of those who betrayed P.T. Chacko were now targeting Mr K.M. Mani.

The party mouthpiece ‘Prathichaya’ in its latest cover story said that some were ‘frustrated’ over the LDF leaders praising Mr Mani.  P.T. Chacko was forced to resign from ministership due to the fear of him becoming the chief minister. Mr Mani also resigned in a similar situation.

The cover story titled, ‘Annu P.T .Chacko, Innu K.M. Mani’ (Then P.T. Chacko, now K.M. Mani) begins by quoting the final lines of the book authored by journalist Abraham Mathew on  Chacko.

The article asks why the noose around Mr. Mani was tightened when  similar allegations that sprang up against K. Babu  vanished in the air. The article has  appeared at a time when the Congress leadership has been  trying to pacify Mr Mani.  

KC (M) sources said that a  final decision on quitting the UDF will be taken at the Charalkunnu camp to be held on Saturday and Sunday.
