New Delhi: Questioning the "One Nation, One Election" concept, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday asked what the common man will get from such an arrangement. The AAP chief asked: What is important for the country? One nation, one election or one nation, one education?"

"What is important for the country? One nation, ene election or one nation, one education (rich or poor, equal good education for all) or one nation, one treatment (rich or poor, equal treatment for all)? What will the common man get from one nation, one election?" he posted on X in Hindi.

The Centre has notified an eight-member high-level committee to examine and make recommendations on the issue of holding simultaneous elections to the Lok Sabha, state Assemblies, municipalities and panchayats.

Later, at a party programme in Haryana's Bhiwani, Mr Kejriwal said, "I want to ask, what would common people get out of one nation, one election? Rather, one nation, one education should be implemented throughout the country. We don't want simultaneous elections. People don't care how many elections are held. One nation, one treatment' for all; everyone should be entitled to quality medical treatment irrespective of their class status."
