YSRC, TD cadres clash in Mandalaparru
KAKINADA: Cadres of YSRC clashed with those of Telugu Desam when TD leader Nara Lokesh’s Yuvagalam Padayatra passed through Mandalaparru village in Nidamarru mandal of Eluru district on Sunday. Three YSRC workers suffered injuries.
YSRC workers alleged that while passing Mandalaparru, TD cadres tore off some flexis put up by the ruling party, leading to the clash. When questioned, TD workers beat up YSRC workers, it is stated.
However, TD leaders alleged YSRC workers did not let the car of TD leader Reddy Chandu pass through and damaged it.
Police intervened and separated the clashing ruling and opposition party workers.
Nidamarru sub-inspector S. Srinivas said three YSRC workers have been injured and hospitalised. According to him, clashes erupted over tearing of the flexis. Police have registered a case.
Palakollu MLA Nimmala Rama Naidu, Eluru former MP Maganti Babu and Eluru TD president Ganni Veeranjaneyulu have condemned the attack on TD workers.
