TGBKS honorary president and TRS MP Kavita is addressing a meeting in Kothagudem on Tuesday.

Kothagudem: The role of national trade unions has been reduced drastically in the national arena. Because of this, they are unable to fight for the rights of miners in Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), Nizamabad MP and honorary president of Telangana Boggu Ghani Karmika Sangham Kavita said.

The national trade unions maintained silence when workers lost 22 rights over the last 15 years, she added.

“AITUC is a trade union that is signatory to an agreement that has caused the workers to lose some of their rights," she said, adding that the diktat of the Chief Minister on dependent jobs will be implemented at any cost. She addressed the SCCL employees and referred all the assurances given by TRS. "There were MLAs on the national trade unions but these unions will not be able to solve the problems of the workers. AITUC failed in achieving the demands of miners in its two times tenure," she said. Cadre scheme system will be implemented in SCCL on par with the Coal India. The Kothagudem hospital will be upgraded as corporate hospital.

"The story of INTUC, which won two times in Kothagudem Corporate area, is another failure story. Congress MPs never spoke the issues of SCCL in Parliament. Chief Minister should be given credit for passing unanimous resolution in the Assembly on waiving of income tax on workers bonus", she said. The child care leave will be implemented in SCCL soon and dependent jobs will be extended to the employees working in corporate area.
