Hyderabad: BRS MLC Kasireddy Narayan Reddy, who quit the BRS on Sunday, visited Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday and met Congress former MLA Challa Vamshi Chand Reddy along with his supporters. Both are ticket aspirants from Kalwakurthy.

After the meeting, both the leaders stated that they have decided to work together for the victory of Congress in Kalwakurthy irrespective of whom will be allotted the ticket.

Narayan Reddy was elected as MLC under local bodies category in January 2022 and has just completed one year and eight months of his six-year tenure. He still has four years and four months left to complete his six-year term. He wanted to contest the Assembly polls but the BRS leadership turned him down and renominated BRS MLA G. Jaipal Yadav.

He expressed an interest to join the Congress if the party fielded him from Kalwakurthy. Vamshi Chand Reddy, Congress winner from Kalwakurthy in 2014, opposed Narayan Reddy's entry.

Narayan Reddy's supporters claimed that he joined Congress after he got assurance from Congress  high command that he will be allotted Kalwakurthy ticket. Against this backdrop, Narayan Reddy met Vamshi Chand Reddy and held discussions.
