Mahakutami to complete list on November 9

Hyderabad: The Mahakutami will announce its candidates for all 119 Assembly constituencies on November 9, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee said here on Saturday. The announcement came after a meeting of Mahakutami leaders to finalise the constituencies for the alliance partners.

TPCC treasurer Guduru Narayana Reddy said all the Mahakutami candidates would be named on Friday next week.

Speaking to mediapersons, he said that according to an AICC survey about the forthcoming Assembly elections the Congress had got 48.9 per cent support from the people and the TRS 31.3 per cent. He said that the Mahakutami candidates would be given tickets as per a survey conducted by the TPCC. 

He said the AICC would be appointing separate counselling teams to persuade dissident leaders and those who would be disappointed at not getting tickets. 
The teams will have TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and AICC general secretary-level leaders. This team will give specific assurance to the leaders who will be denied tickets. 

Mr Narayana Reddy said the Congress campaign calendar was ready and party president Rahul Gandhi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi would address some public meetings in the state.

He said that the Congress target was to remove the TRS from power. Regarding criticism over the Congress-TD tie-up, he said the people that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had tied up with the MIM. He said that the people had already decided to give victory to the Mahakutami.
