TRS, Congress spar over 2BHK houses scheme
According to Congress, Nagesh's family was allotted three 2BHK houses in beneficiary list prepared by authorities.
HYDERABAD: The two-bedroom housing scheme in Old Maredpally is leading to a political slugfest between TRS and Congress parties in Cantonment.
There was mild tension that was created at the area when Congress delegation that went to the site to take stock of the housing scheme was resisted by rival party members and few locals.
Congress leader Krishank Manne, who levelled charges of irregularities in identification of beneficiaries, stated that they went to see extent of land claimed by TRS leader P.L. Nagesh. According to Congress, Nagesh’s family was allotted three 2BHK houses in beneficiary list prepared by authorities.
“The TRS leader claimed that his family owns 200 sq.yards of land. From what we observed it is less than that. Also, it is a housing board land that is being claimed wrongly as private land. We are going to show all documents to court,” he said.
Meanwhile, Congress party stated that they are fully supporting the housing scheme, but only want the beneficiary list to be reworked so that only poorer sections get benefited.
