Top officials hold on to nominated posts even after BRS' defeat

Hyderabad: Top officials like CM’s chief advisor Somesh Kumar, chief government adviser Rajiv Sharma, and advisor S.K. Joshi are yet to give up their nominated posts, a day after BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao resigned as Chief Minister. They are expected to put in their papers after the incumbent government resigns, as a slew of other officers did on Monday.

Official sources said the new government can remove those who did not resign from their nominated posts if they don't submit their resignations. Among those who did not resign was Shailesh Reddy, CEO, of T-SAT. These officials are appointed for a two-year term, which is renewed if the government of the day chooses.

Meanwhile, additional advocate-general J. Ramchander Rao resigned and Advocate-General B.S. Prasad will leave after the new Chief Minister takes oath, sources said.

Nineteen others, nominated to head corporations, submitted their resignation letters to Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari, with Devulapalli Prabhakar Rao, chairman and managing director, TS Transco, leading the list

TS Planning Board vice-chairman B. Vinod Kumar, Jwala Narasimha Rao Vanam, Chief Public Relations Officer to the CM, K.V. Ramana Chary, government adviser and chairman, Telangana Brahmana Sankshema Parishad, and T. Prabhakar Rao, OSD, Special Intelligence Branch put in their papers.

 Other chairpersons who resigned were Soma Bharat Kumar, chairman (TS Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Ltd); Juluri Gowri Shankar (TS Sahitya Academy), Palle Ravi Kumar Goud (TS Toddy Tapper Cooperative Finance Corporation Ltd); Ediga Anjaneya Goud, (Sports Authority of Telangana State), Meday Rajeev Sagar, (Telangana Foods, women, children, disabled and senior citizens department) and D. Balraj Yadav (TS Sheep and Goat Development Cooperative Federation).

Many of them had been appointed in December last and had another year to go before their term would end.

Other corporation chairpersons who quit were Guduru Praveen (Textile Corporation), Gajjela Nagesh (TS Beverages Corporation); Anil Kurmachalam (Film Development Corporation); Ramachandra Naik (Tricar); Valia Naik (Girijan Finance Cooperative Finance Corporation); Y. Sathish Reddy (TS Renewable Energy Development Corporation); Errolla Srinivas (TS Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporation), Ravinder Singh (TS Civil Supplies Corporation); P. Jaganmohan Rao (TS Technology Services), Krishank Manne (TS Mineral Development Corporation); Gellu Srinivas Yadav (TS Tourism Development Corporation Ltd), K. Vasudev Reddy, (TS Handicapped Development Corporation).
