Hyderabad: TJAC chairman Prof. Kodandaram on Sunday announced floating a new political party in the state to fulfil the aspirations of the people of Telangana and the many sections that are disappointed with the functioning and performance of the current Telangana Rashtra Samithi government.

No details were given about the party and the policies it would follow or even when exactly it would be launched. Prof Kodandaram said he would disclose everything by February end.

He said TJAC would continue to function as an organisation working for the people, and floating a political party was necessary to fulfil the aspirations of the people, as without a party, it is not possible to resolve the problems.

According to a source, it is likely the new party will be called the Telangana Jana Samithi as Prof. Kodandaram has applied to the Election Commission for that name.
