EC sets up toll free helpline 1950 for voter info

The SCC will handle generalised complaints and feedback / suggestions, according to the Chief Electoral Officer Satyabrata Sahoo.

Chennai: Following instruction from the Election Commission of India, the authorities here have established District Contact Centres (DCCs) for all the districts in Tamil Nadu, and provided them with a toll-free voter helpline number: 1950.

Voters may obtain information regarding electoral registration, Form status, EPICs, polling station and Assembly constituency, electoral officers and Elections. According to a release here on Monday, voters might also furnish feedback, suggestions, and complaints.

The DCCs will receive localised queries pertaining to their districts. Apart from the District Contact Centres, a State Contact Centre has been functioning in the office of Chief Electoral Officer for voters’ convenience with the Toll free No.180042521950 and is functioning from Jan. 25, the National Voters’ Day. The SCC will handle generalised complaints and feedback / suggestions, according to the Chief Electoral Officer Satyabrata Sahoo.
