The issue of three marriages continues to haunt cine actor and Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan, not only in the political arena but on various occasions. Pawan faced the “haunting 3” marriage question from host and senior actor Nandamuri Balakrishna during a talk show. Pawan claimed, “… actually, I didn’t want to get married. I thought let me be alone. But I got married for the first time because of my family. Both of us couldn’t make it work and had disagreements. That is why we separated legally, through a divorce. After that, I got married for a second time and, this time too, we got separated because of differences. I got married again by accident.” Pawan added, “My rivals are talking about it as if I married three people at the same time.”

POLICE HELPS BRS LEADERS

The people-friendly Telangana state police, who are known for crime prevention and detection, are in the process of achieving another rare distinction, i.e., saving the skin of public representatives, particularly those belonging to the BRS. Cops are working hard to put sincere strenuous efforts and using the best available resources to save the names of BRS leaders cropping up in controversial issues. The recent incident of BRS leaders getting caught red-handed while playing cards in a public representative’s place in Boduppal under the Rachakonda commissionerate limits proves this. The police, reportedly, had to switch off the power supply in the area to facilitate a hassle-free escape for the leaders, who were caught in the act. Police even released CCTV footage supporting their claims that only some office boys and drivers of public representatives were caught. Earlier, too, reports were circulated saying an MLA was caught playing cards in an apartment at Madhapur of Cyberabad. Police denied the reports, saying the MLA had not come to the spot at all. In that case, they claimed that the CCTV cameras were not working.

JINXED SPOKESPERSON CREATES FEAR

Krishank Manne, passionate speaker and debater, PhD scholar and social media convener for the ruling party, who is most loyal to whichever party he belongs, is facing a strange problem — most people in his party reveal in whispers that they consider him to be jinxed for the BRS. The former Congress spokesperson, and son-in-law of a very senior Congress leader who once strongly took on minister K.T. Rama Rao over bad roads in Secunderabad, was made head of the pink party social media campaign once he jumped parties. Despite enormous support from the party high command, the former Congress leader did not live up to their expectations in delivering the powerful social media-generated wave or a narrative favouring the party. Considering his track record ever since took the social media campaign of the BRS, the ruling party has lost the Dubbak bypoll, fared not so well in the GHMC polls, won the Nagarjunasagar bypoll but the Huzurabad and won a recent byelection. Party sources say his social media reach is minimal and hardly impacting the masses besides not benefiting the party. His TV spokesperson stint has not enthused the average party worker. Several leaders are considering bringing the issue to the notice of KTR, as the BRS social media campaign is on a decline when compared to rivals, as no one wants bad luck lurking around in a crucial year.

JAGAN BRINGS INVESTMENT TO STATE

For too long, the opposition Telugu Desam projected a binary in Andhra Pradesh leadership — while Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was only a mass leader with a focus on welfare, it was N. Chandrababu Naidu who could reach out comfortably to investors and corporations and beget funds and investments for the state. When Jagan donned the hat and appealed to trade delegations and corporations to come and invest in AP at an event conducted in the national capital, people were amazed at the ease with which he could do it. No doubt, the TD is looking for other issues to criticise Jagan in the future.
