Senior BJP leader K.S. Eshwarappa campaigns in Nanjangud on Tuesday

Mysuru: Senior BJP leader K.S. Eshwarappa took on  Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for allegedly calling him a liar who had no brains, and said, "I will tolerate personal comments against me, but not anything doubting my loyalty to the party. I consider BJP my mother, I will never harm it. I am born in the BJP and I will die in BJP unlike Siddaramaiah who is a ‘talaak’ politician, who quits parties for power."

Addressing a press meet, before heading to campaign in Nanjangud, he said, "Mr Siddaramaiah  is the king of announcements and lies. He should be given the Nobel prize for telling lies. He thinks he is the supreme leader of the backward classes. He gave talak to the JD(S) and AHINDA since he did not get power. For the sake of power he may even quit the Congress if he loses the CM post. As CM, he must talk with dignity.  He must apologise for the remarks made against me.”

On the complaint made by him that Congressmen were distributing money to win the byelections, Mr Eshwarappa said, "It is a fact that they are distributing money. So I asked voters to take the money and vote for BJP. What’s wrong in it? Why should there be a complaint against me to the Election Commission?"

Actor’s remark irks Gundlupet women voters
At Doddundi in Gundlupet constituency  actor Shruthi reiterated the statement made by Mr K.S. Eshwarappa that voters should take the money offered by the Congress and vote for the BJP but women in the village took her to task. They said, "We will not take money. We will elect an honest candidate who will strive for the development of our region. You people come to ask for votes and never turn up after you gain power," they said to which Ms Shruthi replied that she would take the responsibility of developing the region.
