NDA doors shut forever for Chandrababu Naidu, says Amit Shah
N Chandrababu Naidu is an opportunist, says BJP President.
VIJAYAWADA: At a public meeting in Narasaraopeta on Thursday, BJP national president Amit Shah declared that the doors of the National Democratic Alliance were permanently shut for Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Almost his entire speech was a diatribe against Mr Naidu and had little to do with what the BJP was offering as an alternative. He said he won’t be surprised if the TD makes an attempt to get back into the NDA fold.
“I want to make one thing clear, Mr Chandrababu Naidu, that there is no question of allowing you back into the NDA. The doors are permanently shut for you,” he said.
Mr Shah said the TD came to power in AP on the back of the Modi wave in 2014, and alleged that “Last year, sensing that he was facing strong anti-incumbency, Naidu once again enacted a new drama and came out of the NDA to fool Andhra people.”
There was no bigger opportunist than Mr Naidu who would change colours as and when it suited him, Mr Shah alleged.
He said that the NDA government had extended massive financial assistance to AP in the last five years and implemented a majority of the promises made in the AP Reorganisation Act. He asked how Mr Naidu could have implemented a single project in his state without Mr Modi’s support. He alleged that the Chief Minister had done nothing for the Andhra people and state and had only promoted his son N. Lokesh as his heir apparent.
