Chandrababu Naidu accuses BJP of misusing tax sleuths
Mr Naidu alleged that YSRC chief Jagan Mohan Reddy was acting with Modi and Telangana State Chief Minister K. Rahandra-sekhar Rao.
Vijayawada: AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday came down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao alleging that they were conspiring to suppress TD in AP State by holding I-T raids against the party leaders.
Addressing meetings in Guntur district on Thursday night, he alleged that the BJP was illegally using the I-T to conduct raids on TD leaders involved in various businesses. He said the raids were aimed at creating fear among the party leaders and cadre ahead of the elections and warned that the people of Andhra Pradesh would not be scared by such politically-motivated raids.
Mr Naidu alleged that YSRC chief Jagan Mohan Reddy was acting with Modi and Telangana State Chief Minister K. Rahandra-sekhar Rao.
He alleged that Mr Rao ridiculed Andhra biryani and verbally abused AP people but still Mr Jagan Mohan colluded with him.
Mr Naidu claimed that Telangana state government was digging up cases which were disposed of by the courts,only to harass TD leaders. He claimed that AP would not get justice from Mr Modi and asked the people to help end his rule. Alleging noncooperation by the BJP-led union government headed by Mr Modi, Mr Naidu said that TD government would complete Polavaram project at any cost. He promised to develop 20 cities on par with Hyderabad in the future and asked the public to support the TD in the elections.
The I-T officials conducted raids in the house, gas agency and petroleum outlets belong to Telugu Desam leader Kovelamudi Ravindra alias Nani at Guntur on Thursday. Protesting the IT raids TD MP (Rajya Sabha) member Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar lodged a complaint with AP chief electoral officer GK Dwivedi. He is the main and active leader of the TD in Guntur district.
The TD leaders objected to the raids, saying that they were politically-motivated. The TD cadres with their leaders staged a protest for some time alleging BJP conducting raids on the direction of YSR Congress to suppress TD leaders in this election.
TD MP Ravindra Kumar also lodged a complaint with chief electoral officer G.K. Dwivedi alleging that the BJP government was misusing I-T department against TD leaders during this election.
He also accused the YSRC of offering money to lure voters in the election.
