Chennai: CPI (M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury on Wednesday evening alleged that there is a match-fixing between BJP, AIADMK and DMK as they mutually compromise on communalism and corruption.

“AIADMK and DMK do not say a word of condemnation about this murderous politics of communalism and the BJP does not in one way or the other take any meaningful action on the corruption of neither AIADMK nor DMK. On the contrary it  compromises with them. This is the match-fixing between these parties,” Mr Yechury said while addressing a rally seeking votes for his party ally VCK’s candidate Dr Vasanthi Devi in R K Nagar constituency here.

Pointing the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s forthcoming visit to the state seeking support for BJP in the assembly election where it wants people to reject both the AIADMK and DMK which are corrupt, Mr Yechury said that Tamil Nadu has a unique distinction in the political culture of the country where its chief minister, former CM, its cabinet ministers and Union ministers all have gone to jail on charges of corruption. He pointed to the spectrum scam faced by the DMK leaders and Jayalalithaa’s assets case. “Yes corruption is a big curse in Tamil Nadu. If you want to liberate yourselves from corruption and if your want the money to be used for the welfare of the state, than both DMK and AIADMK have to be defeated and People’s Welfare Front must be elected,” he said.

“If they are corrupt why are you taking their support and patronising them,” he said, pointing to the luncheon meeting between Mr Modi and Jayalalithaa in the latter’s residence here. “So if they are corrupt Mr Modi, and if your are telling people to reject them and vote for BJP, you must tell people what is this match-fixing going on between the BJP, DMK and AIADMK,” he said.

Appealing to people to elect a government headed by the PWF in the ensuing election, Mr Yechury asked the people to break “this tradition of a football game where the ball goes from one goal post to another goal post. That is DMK to AIADMK to DMK to AIADMK. You have to break this and create a new goal post that is people’s goal post which is PWF.”
