Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who said that he would wait for some more time for the Central government to waive farmer loans availed from nationalised banks, on Sunday added that the government will continue to pressurise the Union government to waive the loans. "I hope Mr Yeddyurappa (BJP state president) will also exert pressure on the Union government led by his party to do this," he said.

Speaking to mediapersons near his residence at Sharadadevinagar in Mysuru on Sunday, the CM said, “If I waive farm loans taken from co-operative societies, it will only help 22 percent farmers but 78 percent farm loans are from nationalised banks. To help all farmers, the Union government must first waive farm loans at nationalised banks and we will waive farm loans taken from co-operative societies," he said.

In Hubballi, the CM hit out at Yeddyurappa for staging a day-long dharna demanding supply of drinking water in Gadag town recently claiming BJP leaders were politicising the water problem instead of finding a solution.
