Thiruvananthapuram: LDF to take stock of govt’s performance
The Government had published its annual progress report recently.
Thiruvananthapuram: The LDF state leadership is gearing up for an exhaustive evaluation of the government's performance during the last three years and set goals for the remaining two years in office.
The preparations are on for the comprehensive exercise to be undertaken soon. "Most probably the exercise will be carried out in the next meeting or the one to be held later. Because of the Assembly sessions we have not been able to finalise the dates. However, it will be done soon," said LDF convenor A. Vijayaraghavan.
The Government had published its annual progress report recently. This has been done consistently by the government for the last three years. "Two years before the crucial Assembly elections such an evaluation will be helpful in having a comprehensive discussion on the performance of the government. We need to chalk out the plan for speedy implementation of promises which had been made by the LDF in its election manifesto," he added.
The LDF leadership is planning to have a detailed discussion which will last for two three days.
On the first day, the chief minister will submit a detailed report on the government's performance. Some of the ministers along with the top coalition partner leaders will attend the meeting.
CPI national executive member and Rajya Sabha MP Binoy Viswom said the LDF government has taken great measures in the fields of agriculture, education, social security, health. People are aware of it. The whole country has looked up to Kerala on many occasions because of its high socio economic and health development. "This is the only remaining bastion of the Left in India. The LDF government has something to say to the whole of India and it is not a Kerala affair. The state has to become a role model," he added.
