TIRUPATI: Launching a scathing attack on state minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy for allegedly instigating violence during his tours of Annamayya and Chittoor districts, Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu claimed that he too was a ’son of the soil’ and will not be intimidated by such acts of aggression from the YSRC.

Addressing a gathering during his roadshows in Thamballapalle and Punganur constituencies in the erstwhile Chittoor district on Friday, Naidu said he will never forget the destruction caused by the YSRC in Angallu and Punganur. He held Peddireddy and the police wing responsible for the devastation on Friday.

“As a leader of the opposition party, I have been undertaking a state-wide tour of all the ruined irrigation projects. I had already visited Pulivendula and this land is nothing for him. Being born in the same district, I will not tolerate the use of muscle power and police force against the opposition parties,” he said.

Strongly condemning the attacks on TD activists, the former chief minister said that he will put an end to this. “The atrocities of the local MLA (Peddireddy Dwarakanatha) have far exceeded the limits. I will defeat such leaders in the coming polls and restore peace to the state.”

Naidu dared minister Peddireddy to confront the TD cadres directly without relying on the police force. "If you use one stick, we will use 10 sticks. We will persist until peace is restored in AP," he fumed.

He felt that the police in the area failed to do their job. They should leave their uniform and work as YSRC activists. He found the SP being responsible for Friday's incidents. “I will initiate proper action against the SP,” he warned.
