HYDERABAD: The BJP on Wednesday slammed TRS leadership as one of its leaders was distributing liquor and live chicken in Warangal in the run-up to the scheduled launch of a national party by party president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

BJP’s official spokesperson N.V. Subhash said the act of TRS leader Rajanala Srihari also raises questions over the credibility of the ruling party’s claims that it is capable of serving people.

“What is the message that the TRS want to give the people by distributing chicken and liquor publicly?” Subhash asked. He said the TRS leader had distributed them to hamalis in Warangal district standing in front of the cutouts of Chandrashekar Rao, and IT minister K.T. Rama Rao.

State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar tweeted his reaction saying “’KCR shops’ are already famous in Telangana! Now trying for pan India appeal with BRS… Bar & Restaurant Shop (sic)!!”
