WARANGAL: Vemulawada BRS party MLA Chennamneni Ramesh has “run away” to Germany from an allegation he made -- that a Rs 100 crore land scam occurred in the temple city -- the Congress party has said.

“He must disclose facts as to who all were responsible for the land scam in Vemulawada. A month ago, he tried to put the blame on the Congress and then it became clear that some BRS leaders were behind it,” district Congress committee president Adi Srinivas has said.

Alleging that the lay-out lands under Vemulawada municipality are being encroached and demanding immediate action against those responsible for this, Congress leaders lodged a complaint along with “evidence of registration documents” to municipal commissioner G Anvesh in Vemulawada, Rajanna Sircilla district, on Friday.

The registration documents of around 140 guntas of the encroached land were given to the municipal commissioner. “There is evidence of encroachment of 30 per cent of the land. The evidence relating to the 70 per cent of the encroached land must be given by the MLA as he has complete details as to how the land scam has occurred,” the Congress leader said.

He said there were also allegations that a lot of irregularities occurred in the Cooperative electricity supply society (CESS). An investigation must be ordered to find out the facts, he demanded.

Congress leaders S Venkata Swamy, Ramesh, K Komuraiah, Srinivas, S Swamy and K Rakesh were present.
