Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reiterated that the drought-hit Rayalaseema region would soon turn as a rich horticulture hub after the completion of HNSS project and diversion of Krishna river from Srisailam.

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s  “thought-provoking speech in the TD Parliamentary Party meeting has prompted the party MPs to think differently and project themselves as true warriors for the cause of AP’s development.

Mentioning the words like “shall observe”, “will examine”, and “as for feasibility” in several Acts, Mr Naidu said that the people of AP have been raising questions as to why they are being punished, despite paying taxes and honouring the state. The Centre has to address the issues and concerns of AP, Mr Naidu said and asked the MPs to spread the truth that YSRC Chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has been trying to become close to the Centre, to get double advantage.

Reacting sharply to the observations of few BJP leaders indirectly, Mr Naidu explained that it takes minimum six years for an educational institute to get complete infrastructure, and to get six more years to get recognition. “ In such circumstances, they are giving Rs 10 crore or Rs 30 crore per annum,. How can one expect that the complete infrastructure would be created in stipulated period,” the CM  shared his observations with MPs and asked them to highlight the efforts of State Government, in addressing the issues related to construction of Capital Amaravati, Polavaram and housing.

The CM also wanted MPs to explain as to how the erstwhile Congress Government has sent its report to the then Union Government stating that only six lakh people in AP did not have houses.”

But, after we can to power, we have carried out a survey wherein it was found 22 lakh people were homeless,” the CM explained and asked the MPs to take these facts to the public. If our exercise was not there, 16  lakh people might have lost the chance of getting houses.
