TD MPs get support from TRS, Congress
In the Rajya Sabha, TD MPs continued their agitation with support from the TRS and Trinamul Congress.
Hyderabad: Both Houses of Parliament adjourned without transacting any business on Monday as Members of Parliament of both Telugu states raised slogans, rushed to the well of the House and stalled proceedings.
The TRS’ main agenda is getting the Central government to accept the reservation Bills it has sent to enhance the quota for Muslims and Scheduled Tribes. With the MPs raising slogans in the well of the lower house, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the House for 10 minutes. But as the same situation prevailed after the house was reconvened, the Speaker adjourned the house for the day.
In the Rajya Sabha, TD MPs continued their agitation with support from the TRS and Trinamul Congress. Congress MP KVP Ramachandra Rao, also protested with a placard demanding special category status for AP. Chairman of the Rajya Sabha M. Venkaiah Naidu adjourned the House twice, but as the protests continued, in the afternoon too, the deputy chairman P.J. Kurien adjourned it for the day.
