KAKINADA: Agriculture minister Kurasala Kannababu told Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan to stop criticising Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and instead question Bharatiya Janata Party about the Special Category Status and other funds that have to be released by the Centre.
Speaking to reporters here on Monday, he said that rather than frequently mentioning faction politics, Pawan Kalyan would do well if he pays attention to the development of Rayalaseema.
The minister said that opposition parties, including Telugu Desam and Jana Sena, should question the Union Government about the exorbitant hike in petrol and diesel charges. He said that when N Chandrababu Naidu was the chief minister, many idols of deities were destroyed and the subsequent curse brought him down in 2019. He said that YSRC would win Tirupati Lok Sabha elections with an overwhelming majority.
Yanamala demands white paper
Meanwhile, senior TD leader Yanamala Ramakrishunudu demanded a white paper on the finances of Andhra Pradesh.
In a statement issued here on Monday, the leader of the Opposition in the AP Legislative Council slammed the state government for the deteriorating financial situation which was so enormous that they were able to pay salaries in time.
He said that the state had the dubious distinction of taking loans to the tune of Rs 79,191.58 crore loans by February for the 2020-21 fiscal. He pointed out that the state had additional revenue of Rs 29,109.30 crore when compared to last year and had received a huge amount in the form of Covid assistance and donations, it still took Rs 73,812 cr loans in just three months of 2021.
