Don't sell communal agenda, Amit Shah told

Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Monday said BJP national president Amit Shah had to return without being able to inject communal venom on the expected level. The CPM state secretary said Shah’s mission was with the aim of wrecking communal harmony in the state and converting Kerala into Gujarat. The BJP RSS communal propaganda targeting Kerala would be fought unitedly by the people. Kodiyeri said during his visit, Shah unleashed baseless allegations against the LDF government and CPM. It was part of the propaganda being carried out by RSS and BJP at the national level to portray Kerala in a wrong manner and aimed at tarnishing the image of the state.

He said these attempts were being made in desperation since Malayalis have rejected their dubious agenda of creating divisions in society in the name religion. “RSS is indulging in various actions with the target of creating communal strive in the state,” he said. According to Kodiyeri, the BJP president’s meeting with Church leaders here was part of RSS strategy. “We hope the Church leader will not fall into the Sangh Parivar trap. The BJP leaders who are coming to touch their feet should be seen with suspicion,” he said.

‘Shah desperate to fan communal feelings’

KPCC president M M Hassan on Monday took a dig at the BJP national president Amit Shah saying that he will have to celebrate at least 20 birthdays here for his party to get another seat inthe state. Hassan said Shah’s visit was clearly aimed at communal disturbance in the state. He said the BJP president was desperate to fan communal feelings in the state for vested political interests.
 Hassan said his meeting with Church leaders was with the view to woo the minority communities in the state. However, during the meeting with Christian leaders the BJP president failed to give any concrete assurance on the issues confronting the people.

The Centre has failed to intervene effectively to secure the release of Fr Uzhunallil who was captured in Yemen. There is no assurance from the Central government or Shah to seek his release. Hassan said Shah whose government is ruling at the Centre had failed to give any assurance to remove the grievances of the rubber farmers and the crisis being faced by the rubber sector. Instead his government is planning to shift the Rubber Board out of the state. The KPCC president said Amit Shah’s devious agenda would not succeed in the state. He said the people of the state would defend the secular fabric of the state and defeat any attempt to create division in the society.
