Tanveer Sait blames AH Vishwanath for CH Vijayshankar defeat
Vishwanth is meeting Mr Deve Gowda on Thursday, the minister said.
Mysuru: Former minister and Congress MLA, Mr Tanveer Sait has held JD (S) state head Mr A.H. Vishwanath responsible for the defeat of Congress candidate Mr C.H. Vijayshankar in the Lok Sabha election in Mysuru-Kodagu constituency.
Speaking to media persons after participating in the mass prayers on the occasion of Eid at Eidgah grounds in Mysuru on Wednesday, Sait said Vishwanath who is the MLA of Hunsur, failed to get a good lead for Vijayshankar in Hunsur and this indicates that that the coalition dharma has not been followed. (Mr Vijayshankar got only a narrow lead of 3,798 votes in Hunsur while Mr Vishwanath had secured a lead of 8,575 votes in the 2018 assembly elections)
He added that neither leaders nor party workers followed the coalition dharma anywhere which was the reason why the Congress had to suffer such a huge defeat in the Lok Sabha polls.
Meanwhile JD (S) leader and Higher Education Minister Mr G.T. Devegowda at a function to mark World Environment Day, toldmedia persons that Mr A.H. Vishwanath will continue as JD (S) state head even in future. "We discussed this at the JD (S) legislators' meeting on Tuesday evening. Even Mr Vishwanath has said that he would comply with the instructions of JD (S) supremo Mr H.D. Deve Gowda. Mr Vishwanth is meeting Mr Deve Gowda on Thursday," the minister said.
