Chennai: AIADMK deputy general secretary T.T.V. Dhinakaran, on Wednesday, reiterated his ultimatum for the merger of both factions of the AIADMK and asserted that he would launch into party work from August 4.

The assertion came immediately after his meeting with party general secretary V.K. Sasikala at the Parappana Agraharam prison in Bengaluru after he had flown in from Mumbai, where he had gone for an undisclosed purpose.
He said the two factions could be certainly merged and Sasikala gave some advice on the merger efforts. “I have been keeping away from political activities only for the party's merger. I will begin my party work on August 4”, he told reporters outside the prison.

He also denied the claims of Sasikala’s husband M. Natarajan that negotiations were held to patch up the difference between him and uncle Dhivakaran. “There was no dispute between me and Dhivakaran which needed such negotiations. Besides, Natarajan is not the official spokesperson of the AIADMK”, Dhinakaran said.
