Budget 2019: YSR Congress unhappy over Budget proposals
Reddy clarified that owing to the indifferent attitude of the TD government, the state was reeling under a deficit of Rs 60,000 crore.
Vijayawada: The YSRC appears to be unhappy with the Union Budget and termed it as a disappointing for Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing the media in New Delhi after Union minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget in Parliament on Friday, YSRC parliamentary party leader V Vijaya Sai Reddy, said that to the dismay and disappointment of people in Andhra Pradesh, the issue of special category status to the state was not touched upon. He also pointed out that the implementation of the provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act found no mention in the Budget. The senior YSRC leader criticised the Centre for ignoring the demands of Andhra Pradesh. The state did not stand to gain in any way from the Budget, he added. There was no clarity on the funds allocated to AP, he said.

He reminded that the Centre had promised to help Andhra Pradesh, but did not deliver on its assurances. The senior YSRC leader also said that there was no reference in the Budget to funds related to the Polavaram project or new capital city of Amaravati. Mr Reddy said that the YSRC would fight for the rights of people of the state. The party’s MPs would articulate their concerns in Parliament, he pointed out.
