Political violence: LDF is wary of RSS intentions
The LDF is also not quite happy with the timing finalised by the BJP for Finance Minister Arun Jaitely's visit on Sunday.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The LDF is wary of the RSS strategy in the state the wake of the nationwide campaign unleashed by that organization alleging break own of law and order in the state. LDF leaders believe that with a section of BJP central leadership even questioning the outcome of the meetings taking place between the two parties in various districts and even doubting the intentions of chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, the peace initiative launched by the government would fail to achieve the desired results.
The manner in which BJP leaders at the national level were making highly objectionable statements raised suspicion about their intentions. A section of LDF leaders say the BJP and RSS were not quite keen on restoring peace in the state. Instead some elements in these organizations want the things to get worse. In such a situation, it would be easy to carry out a campaign alleging that law and order situation had worsened in Kerala and warranted the central intervention.
The LDF is also not quite happy with the timing finalised by the BJP for Finance Minister Arun Jaitely’s visit on Sunday. His visit will only help in diverting the focus from the crucial all-party meeting. While both the parties have agreed during the bilateral meetings to check provocative actions, posters, sloganeering and local level skirmishes from snowballing into full-scale violence, the big question is, will the CPM-BJP bosses walk the talk and rein in their unruly cadre.
