Rahul Gandhi to address farmers in Bidar
After addressing the rally, Rahul Gandhi will proceed to Telangana to take part in the programmes organised there.
Bidar: The AICC President Rahul Gandhi will kickstart the campaign for the 2019 Lok Sabha election in the state by addressing a farmers rally here on August 13.
Addressing the media, KPCC Working President Eshwar Khandre said that about two lakh farmers from various parts of Bidar and neighbouring districts will attend the rally which would be held at the Nehru Stadium. Besides Mr Gandhi, the rally will be attended by Leader of the Congress group in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Khare, AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, KPCC President Dinesh Gundurao, former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Home Minister Dr G Parameshwar and the Minister for Water Resources D.K. Shivakumar.
Besides, Mr Gandhi would be felicitated on the occasion. After addressing the rally, he will proceed to Telangana to take part in the programmes organised there.
Mr Khandre felt the Lok Sabha elections would be held either in December or January. “There is a need to begin preparations from now onwards to end Narendra Modi's rule in the country", he added.
Regarding the number of seats the Congress would contest in the parliament polls, Mr Khandre stated that the issue would be finalised at a meeting of JD(S) and Congress leaders soon. “There is no ambiguity. We, Congress and JD(S), will jointly fight the Lok Sabha polls. The number of seats each party contests will be decided at a meeting with JD(S) leaders”, he added.
