IT raid on Congmen: KPCC plans protest
The AICC has also cautioned the KPCC not to go overboard when they launch rallies and protest marches against the I-T department.
Bengaluru: Irked by the Income Tax (I-T) raids on its nearly dozen leaders and 60 associates of these leaders, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has reportedly directed the KPCC to launch state wide protests in front of I-T offices in the state.
The AICC has also cautioned the KPCC not to go overboard when they launch rallies and protest marches against the I-T department.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, a senior leader disclosed that the AICC has strictly asked the KPCC to make sure the protest only focuses on how the I-T department was using arm twisting tactics to persuade leaders to join the BJP in order to avoid further raids. "In the case of energy minister, D. K. Shivakumar, every I-T official involved in this raid was trying to extract more information on political funding alone when t heir job is to find out whether a person has evaded tax or not,” the source contended.
