Naidu's Selfie Challenge to CM
ANANTAPUR: TD president Chandrababu Naidu has thrown a selfie challenge to Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy over governmental “negligence’ to the Handri Neeva Sujala Shravanthi, green energy and drip irrigation schemes in Uravakonda region in this district.
Naidu, on a three-day visit to Anantapur district, attended the marriage reception for the son of Uravakonda MLA Payyavula Kesav at Kowkuntla village in Uravakonda mandal. He rode up to the windmill unit in the village and threw a selfie challenge to the CM over the government’s failure to complete the pending projects in the district.
The former chief minister also made a visit to the site of sub-canal works under phase I of the HNSS project in the village and noted that these remained incomplete.
Later, Naidu visited the fields where the drip irrigation project that was sanctioned during the TD period remained incomplete. He took selfies there and threw a challenge to the chief minister.
Naidu observed that the green energy policy of the previous TD government had encouraged investors to set up big units in the state. "Jagan Reddy should release a white paper on green energy production in the state, with a comparison of the scenario during the TD and YSRC rules," he said.
The TD chief alleged that the major irrigation project, HNSS, was neglected during the term of the present government though many of these works have reached the final stages.
Referring to exclusive drip irrigation project that was abandoned by the present government, he said this resulted in distress to the farmers.
Meanwhile, state minister Ushasri Charan criticised Chandrababu Naidu, saying he did nothing for the Kalyanadurgam area during his rule of AP. " Naidu is trying to defame the YSRC government by hiding his failures," she observed.
