BRS Reddy Athmeeya Sammelanam cancelled, Kamareddy stalemate continues
Kamareddy: The stalemate over differences between Reddy and Velama groups continued to haunt the BRS in the Kamareddy Assembly constituency on Sunday.
The fissures forced the cancellation of the day’s Reddy Athmeeya Sammelanam here. Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and Minister for Roads and Buildings V. Prashanth Reddy were to attend the meeting to garner support from the Reddy community.
Meanwhile, the party leadership was unable to resolve the dispute between Machareddy MPP president L. Narsing Rao and Machareddy ZPTC member Minkuri Ram Reddy, both of whom remained defiant.
The Reddy community members were demanding the suspension of Narsing Rao for his attack on Ram Reddy while BRS leadership reportedly asked Narsing Rao to tender an apology to Reddy.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao is to file his nomination papers for the Kamareddy Assembly constituency on November 9 and follow it up with a public meeting.
The BRS high command is making arrangements for the nomination and public meeting events.
“It is not easy to suspend Narsing Rao, who belongs to the Velama community. He enjoys immense clout in Machareddy Mandal,” a BRS leader told Deccan Chronicle on the condition of anonymity.
