Hyderabad: Taking serious exception to the remarks of AP chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu that there was no water left in the Krishna river and the Telugu states must share the Godavari, caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao alleged he was conspiring to control the affairs of Telangana state through his proxies in the Telangana Congress.

Concluding his election campaign by addressing his last public meeting in his constituency Gajwel, he said that the endorsement of the proposal of Mr Naidu to share Godavari waters by Congress president Rahul Gandhi showed that the AP Chief Minister was conspiring to deny Telangana its rightful share of Krishna water by misleading the people.

He alleged that Telangana Congress leaders had got accustomed to slavery and nodded in approval to the proposal. Even today, no Congress leader dared to question Mr Naidu when he said there was no water in the Krishna.

Mr Rao said Mr Naidu who had sabotaged the creation of separate Telangana had obstructed its growth prospects on various counts.

He cautioned the people against giving power to the Peoples Front which, he said, could lead to post-bifurcation era of atrocities and suppression on the people of Telangana by the “Andhra rulers.”

He said, “If KCR wins, Telangana will get Kaleshwaram project. But if the Congress-TD Prajakutami wins, it will be a bane.”
