Kamareddy protests expose ‘anti-farmer’ KCR: Chugh
HYDERABAD: Kamareddy farmers going on an agitation against the proposed master plan that will result in fertile farm land being taken away for an industrial zone is symptomatic of the BRS government’s ‘couldn't care less’ attitude towards farmers, BJP national general secretary and TS in-charge Tarun Chugh said.
In a statement here on Saturday, Chugh condemned Friday’s lathicharge on farmers and their arrest, including of state BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar, at Kamareddy.
“The episode reveals the dictatorial attitude of the KCR government. The anti-farmer attitude clearly signals the fact that the state government is on its way out, for no government which has forced insurmountable problems on farmers has ever survived,” Chugh said.
Ever since Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao took over, he has adopted an “anti-farmer attitude. The Dharani portal has become a tool for his henchmen to snatch farmers’ lands. He also failed to fulfill the one-time farm loan waiver promise,” Chugh said.
