BJP protests TD attack on its MLC
They claimed that the BJP-led Union government sanctioned a large amount of funds.
GUNTUR: BJP protests against election ally Telugu Desam with black ribbons and placards. The party leaders and activists, tying black ribbons to their mouths, took out a rally from the BJP office, passing through Sankar Vilas to Lodge Centre and staged a dharna in Guntur on Tuesday objecting the statements of TD leaders against BJP MLC Somu Veerraju and the party's protests in front of MLC's house.
They claimed that the BJP-led Union government sanctioned a large amount of funds, including that to the new Capital Amaravati, treating AP as a favourite state but the TD is defaming the BJP, breaching the alliance dharma.
The BJP leaders took objection to the statements of TD leaders, including TD legislator G.V. Aanjaneyulu terming Mr Veerraju as a YSR Congress agent.
BJP Guntur city president A. Aanjaneyulu, addressing the protesters, said that unable to withstand the criticism on anomalies in the Polavaram project and others, the TD and its sponsored organisations attacked the residence and office of Mr Veerraju and burnt his effigies.
He reminded that the BJP government sanctioned many funds for welfare schemes, provided round-the-clock power, sanctioned LED bulbs, houses under housing schemes and others but the TD government is not mentioning about that and instead, campaigning that all the central schemes are of the TD government which is objectionable.
