Congress may lobby CM Chandrasekhar Rao for Palair seat
He said the TRS may field a candidate for the Palair byelection, and wrest the seat like it did it in Narayankhed.
Hyderabad: TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Sunday convened a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party meeting on March 9 and 10 to work on the strategy for the Budget Session that commences on Thursday.
On the first day, the CLP will adopt a condolence resolution on the demise of party’s Palair MLA Ramreddy Venkata Reddy. Party leaders feel that an appeal should be made to the ruling TRS and other political parties to allow the unanimous election of a family member of the late Venkata Reddy in the bypoll.
“At Narayankhed, we failed to make a collective appeal to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao but this time we will make the effort since other Opposition parties are in favour,” a senior Congress leader told this newspaper.
He said the TRS may field a candidate for the Palair byelection, and wrest the seat like it did it in Narayankhed.
The CLP will meet on Thursday after the Governor’s address and discuss strategy for the session. “We will ensure floor coordination with other parties and launch a united attack against the government on its failures,” he said.
