Thamilaruvi Manian decries DMK for waiting on DMDK's response
Manian said that he pitied the DMK leadership that had lost the self-respect given to it by Periyar.
Kanyakumari: The DMK vying for an DMDK alliance shows that the Anna-founded party under its present president M. Karunanidhi “has lost its self respect”, said Thamilaruvi Manian of the Gandhian People’s Movement here in Nagercoil on Sunday.
Known to be a DMDK baiter, Manian asked whether the Vijayakanth-led party has the guts to contest the elections on its own without joining any political alliance like the PMK. Manian, however, added that the PMK’s claim for victory in 150 constituencies was a dream, but the PMK had every right to dream.
Commenting on the DMK waiting for Vijayakanth’s words to finalise the alliance, Manian said that he pitied the DMK leadership that had lost the self-respect given to it by Periyar. He however welcomed and appreciated the DMK president, Karunanidhi’s statement in support of the release of the seven life convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.
