Chandrababu Naidu mum on cabinet reshuffle
The CM avoided straight answer on the Supreme Court's notice in the cash-for-vote case.
Vijayawada: Central intelligence agencies have reportedly collected the video footage of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s press conference at the Velagapudi Secretariat here on Monday, where he was seen attacking US President Donald Trump.
“Because of Trump, the US has been facing problems. Similarly a few forces have been trying to disturb the communal harmony and law and order situation in the state,” the CM said. This was the remark that was said to have attracted the attention of US officials.
“A few people are trying to create such a situation in Andhra Pradesh,” he said. He recalled how the US was considered to be the safest country in the world earlier. “There is no security for anyone in America today. Now, our people are wary of migrating to that country,” he said. “We are seeing what’s happening to the prestige of America. Its future is in jeopardy because of one leader.”
The CM avoided straight answer on the Supreme Court’s notice in the cash-for-vote case. “Nothing new in this case. There have been 26 cases on me,” Mr Naidu said.
He also avoided giving a straight reply when asked when he would reshuffle the Cabinet. “I never spoken about a Cabinet reshuffle earlier,” he observed. He wished his son and TD leader Nara Lokesh, who has been no-minated for the election to the Legislative Council, all the best in his political endeavours. “We have given MLC seats on merit,” Mr Naidu said.
Expressing happiness at the inaugural session of AP Legislative Assembly in Amaravati on Monday, Mr Naidu said “Governance from our own region will improve confidence among people.” He said the transit Assembly would help improve administration.
