Congress legislator DK Aruna sees kickbacks in Palamur
This triggered verbal sparring between Congress and TRS leaders.
Hyderabad: Congress legislator D.K. Aruna made a powerpoint presentation here on Monday and held a roundtable conference, alleging huge irregularities in the redesigning of the Palamur-Ranga Reddy project to favour contractors. This triggered verbal sparring between Congress and TRS leaders.
Ms Aruna alleged, “Global tenders were not called for the construction of the project. The CM and TRS leaders decided on contractors by sitting at the CM's camp office by receiving huge kickbacks.”
TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said, “TRS leaders are looting public money in the name of irrigation projects. Anyone questioning this loot is being attacked by TRS leaders.”
TRS leaders denied the charges and said the Opposition parties had joined hands to stall work on the irrigation projects with a malafide intention.
