Audio cropped, is out of context: Venkat Reddy
Hyderabad: Reacting to the news of his leaked phone call record, Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy maintained that the audio that is being circulated was cropped and out of context. He described this as an attempt by Cheruku Sudhakar to get the Nakrekal Assembly ticket.
During an informal interaction with the media here on Monday, Reddy said “In my 33 years of political career, I had never abused political rivals. In fact, I approach my enemies. Had it been my intention to abuse, I would not have made a regular call,” he explained.
The MP further alleged that the other issues which were discussed were cropped in the audio which was being circulated. “It was a selective leak and I was aware of the fact that the call was on record. Ever since Sudhakar joined the party, he has been abusing me. I was the one who supported him when he was booked under the PD Act. I was only trying to make his son understand how to mend their ways,” he explained.
Reddy said that his outbursts were because of Sudhakar’s demand to suspend him from the party. “They have pasted posters against me in Nakrekal and I know who is behind this. I am taking this issue to AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and Telangana in-charge Thakre,” he added.
