Mangaluru: Veteran BJP leader and former chief minister B S Yediyurappa's statement that the BJP would renominate all sitting legislators, except a few, in the upcoming elections has kicked off new discussion in the ruling party

During a press conference in Kalaburagi, Yediyurappa stated that all sitting MLAs, except for a few, are likely to get a ticket in the upcoming assembly elections.

As the BJP aims to secure a clear majority in this election, there was a general belief that the party would not take any chances by fielding new faces. This has led most MLAs, including non-performing MLAs, to feel confident about getting another chance to contest the election. But Yediyurappa's statement has resulted in a discussion within the party as to who those MLAs are who would not be given the chance in this election.

Yediyurappa also sent a clear message to those spreading rumours about quitting the party. "Many of them have expressed their eagerness in joining the BJP. Those who want to join the BJP are welcome, and those who want to quit can happily do so," he said.

The former Chief Minister also expressed his confidence in the BJP winning 140 seats and securing a clear majority in the assembly in the upcoming election.
