Hyderabad: The YSR Congress MLA Ms R.K. Roja, who appeared before the Assembly Privileges Committee, has denied making any abusive comments against Telugu Desam MLA V. Anita but offered to withdraw if any if the latter felt they were made.
While saying that she didn’t made any abusive comments against Ms Anita in the AP Assembly, Ms Roja said she got respect for MLA Anita. Ms Roja told the committee that she was abused by Telugu Desam MLAs. Ms Roja appeared before the committee headed by Mr Gollapalli Surya Rao in the AP Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.
Assembly Privileges Committee chairperson Mr Surya Rao said a report will be submitted to the Speaker for further action. “Explanation given by YSRC MLA Roja has been recorded and a report on the proceedings would soon be forwarded to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. I cannot reveal anything more than this as the committee is a statutory body,” said Mr Surya Rao.
Ms Anita had lodged a complaint to the Privileges Committee earlier alleging she was abused by Ms Roja in the Assembly. Ms Roja was served notices twice earlier and she gave in writing about her inability to attend the hearing. She appeared before the committee to the third notice.
