Home Minister Rajnath Singh brandishes CBI probe
The Home Minister attacked opposition leader V S Achuthanandan saying that the veteran leader had lost his credibility.
Thiruvananthapuram/Kollam: Union Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said that the Centre would order a CBI probe into the brutal murder of dalit law student Jisha if the state government sent a recommendation. The home minister was on a whirlwind tour of several constituencies in Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram districts, extensively campaigning for the BJP candidates.
"If we get a recommendation from the state government, the centre will take immediate steps to order a high level probe by the central investigation agency to reach the truth,” he said. The union minister said there was widespread criticism against the Kerala police for mishandling the case and failing to follow the set procedures. “It is a brutal crime against a dalit girl which has shocked everyone. Our party is committed to ensure justice to her family. The safety of women was under threat in the state,” he said.
Singh said the UDF and LDF which ruled alternately , had wreaked havoc in the state and the people were at the receiving end. “Please give us a chance , we will give you a clean, people friendly government ,” he told voters.
The Home Minister attacked opposition leader V S Achuthanandan saying that the veteran leader had lost his credibility. The opposition leader had failed to reveal the names of the VIPs in Kaviyoor and Kiliyoor cases despite making the claims many years ago. He said even in the case of Perambavoor brutal murder of the girl, the opposition leader lacked sincerity.
‘Unholy alliance between Congress and CPM’ Mr. Rajnath alleged that the silence of CPM on corruption cases including Augusta Westland case is in view of the Left- Congress alliance in the West Bengal. “In Kerala, they fight like fierce enemies but in the West Bengals, they exchange rings,” he alleged.
